Social Commitment
We consider ourselves a fair partner for the region
At E.ON Kraftwerke we consider ourselves to be a fair partner for all the regions in which we operate. The company takes its social responsibility seriously and is very dedicated towards numerous social projects. Above all, the power plants enter into long-term partnerships with institutions that provide aid and support to children and young people.
We understand the term Corporate Responsibility (CR) to mean the social and community responsibilities of a company.
The Wilhelmshaven power plant supports Wendepunkt
For twelve years, “Wendepunkt” ("turning point" in German) has been supporting disadvantaged children, youth and families in Wilhelmshaven. Founded as a non-profit association in November 1995, Wendepunkt evolved into a non-profit company in September 1999. Wendepunkt has 16 employees. Eleven volunteers also provide support for the "Food for Children" project. Wendepunkt has been running the "Food for Children" project in Wilhelmshaven since 1999. Around 180 schoolchildren are provided with hot meals during the week; this is financed solely by sponsors and donations.
This year, the Wilhelmshaven power plant donated EUR 25,000, enough to enable Wendepunkt to plan for the year 2010.
